FILTER GOAT CalCPA Article

Question: What is the best Excel function? Typical responses are VLOOKUP, INDEX, MATCH, XLOOKUP and SUMIFS, which are among Excel’s highlights.

Follow-up question: If there was a function that could do the work of these, would it be the Greatest of All Time (GOAT)?

Well, the FILTER function is too new to declare it the GOAT, but it certainly has the potential to be one of the greatest Excel functions ever.

Your knowledge of Excel is phenomenal. I’m surprised at the lack of knowledge that current college graduates have about, in my opinion, one of the most fantastic programs available in the market place that is a must for CPA’s or anyone working with statistical data.
I’m just super impressed with your abilities in Excel and it is a constant reminder about how little I personally understand this software.
Thank you for your spreading your knowledge. I have purchased “Excel University Volume 1” and use it as a resource guide often

Thanks for your kind note James … I really appreciate it! Excel is a big place, and I learn stuff about it all the time. And when I do, I love talking about it 🙂
