What was life like before you joined Excel University?

My name is Bobby Krupp and I am a staff accountant currently working towards my CPA. I have always loved using Excel, which was particularly useful when I went back to college. 

I have always utilized a lot of the tools in Excel. I came across one of Jeff's webinars during my CPA training and I really appreciated it. 

It was his ninja keyboard tricks that really appealed to me. Then I really got into it and saw how much more I could get out of Excel University.

What has changed since you joined Excel University?

Excel University has made my day-to-day tasks a lot easier. Ironically, what I gained the most out of was the first couple of levels in Excel University. 

The last couple that dealt with the workbooks put a lot of things back together in my mind, but I already had that knowledge.

I have been able to use that knowledge to help out several other companies we work with. I am also more willing to use different techniques to sort and analyze data. 

I can take those skills and train other staff members to help get their jobs done a bit better as well.

What makes Excel University better than searching Google or YouTube?

Excel University was much more helpful than Google or YouTube. I usually used YouTube to find one of Jeff’s webinars that I could not find in my notes. 

That is really all YouTube is good for. In my opinion it is only good to refine what you have already learned. 

All the repetition and examples Excel University has helps you to go through methodically and commit the techniques to long term memory instead of just looking for a quick fix.

What is one of your favorite time-saving techniques?

There are daily projects that were taking me 45 minutes, which I have got down to just 5-6 minutes. We also have projects for my superiors that would take them several hours. I have cut this down to 10 minutes! 

The keyboard shortcuts and other techniques I learned with Excel University really made a difference in streamlining these processes. 

Being CPAs in an accounting firm, time is of the essence. We only have so many hours in the day we can physically work. The more efficient we can be, the more we can get done and the more money we can make.

Would you recommend Excel University?

Excel University is great for people of all levels. The course is built to take someone from a beginner to an advanced level. 

It helps to have some existing knowledge of how the basic program works, but I have been able to use some of his techniques with people who have no idea at all about Excel. 

I have been able to teach complete beginners a few things to help them complete their job faster. We also have a colleague who is getting ready to enroll herself in Excel University.
