What was life like before you joined Excel University?

My name is Cori Connor-Morse, and I have been a self-employed CPA since about 1990. I had a long-standing client for 22 years, but they got too big for me.

I gave my notice this year and asked myself how I would be able to replicate the fancy spreadsheets and other materials that had previously been provided to me.

I had no idea how to set them up myself, and I had a lot of questions and doubts about doing it myself. I was so intimidated at first.

What has changed since you joined Excel University?

The best part of Excel University is that I am learning shortcuts and things that I did not even know existed in Excel and it is opening my eyes to how much there is.

The shortcut keys are one of those things, I had no idea that they existed or why you would use them. Having little tools like that has already made a big difference.

They are teaching me how to think things through better. I have a much better thought process now and I am getting there.

What makes Excel University better than searching Google or YouTube?

When searching on Google, I have met so many arrogant people who assume you have a base of knowledge and launch right into a lesson.

When I started I did not even have the basic knowledge, so I could not follow what they were doing. I could write down the formula and take some notes about what goes where, but it was just so frustrating.

Jeff's teaching in Excel University is really perfect! And he is very consistent. He always reviews the techniques before showing how it works in practice. You know what is coming because he has a style he sticks to, and it is great.

Would you recommend Excel University?

I would definitely recommend Excel University to all my CPA friends. I am sure that I am not the only one who is self-taught and did not know how to hold a mouse until I changed jobs in the '90s!

Being self-taught has a lot of disadvantages so Excel University is perfect for other CPAs like me.
